How to factory reset a TP-Link router

Reset button location

Recessed pinhole on the back panel, labelled "Reset" or "WPS/Reset".

Hold duration

10 seconds

What gets reset

Wipes the Wi-Fi SSID/password, admin credentials, port forwarding, parental controls and any custom DDNS. The router reboots into factory state.

Brand-specific notes

Newer Archer / Deco models use "tplinkwifi.net" instead of an IP. The first-run wizard now forces you to create a unique admin password — older firmware kept admin/admin.
